Business Backup & Recovery Plans in Savannah

Manage It Yourself. Get Help When You Need It. Or Let CSI Handle It.

Some businesses want a local backup they can manage themselves. Others want cloud protection and someone to call when they need help. And some want a technology partner to take responsibility for the entire backup and recovery process.

Computer Solutions, Inc. offers three service levels built around those needs:

Backup Core: We set it up. You manage it.
Backup Support: Cloud protection with professional help when needed.
Backup Managed: CSI manages protection, recovery, and temporary cloud operations.

Whether your business is in Savannah, elsewhere in Chatham County, or a nearby community, we'll help you choose the right balance of protection, responsibility, and cost.

Choose Who Takes Responsibility Before Something Goes Wrong

Having backup software installed is only part of protecting your business.

Someone needs to check that backups are completing, respond to failures, maintain storage, and verify that recovery remains possible. If a server fails, someone also needs to restore it and reconnect your employees.

Our plans make those responsibilities clear from the beginning.

CSI Backup Core

Local Backup. Self-Managed.

For businesses that want us to establish their local backup and then take it from there.

Ask About Backup Core

Backup Core provides a straightforward local backup solution without an ongoing managed service commitment.

CSI installs and configures the agreed solution, verifies the initial backup, and provides a handoff. After setup, your business is responsible for its operation and maintenance.

What's Included

  • Installation and initial configuration.
  • Scheduled local backups for covered systems.
  • System-level backups supporting individual file and full-system recovery.
  • Backup retention configured for the agreed storage capacity.
  • Verification of the initial backup.
  • Basic operating instructions and access handoff.

What You Manage

Your business checks backup results, responds to alerts, maintains backup equipment and storage, and arranges recovery testing.

CSI does not provide ongoing monitoring, maintenance, or automatic intervention under Backup Core.

When You Need Assistance

You can request CSI troubleshooting or restoration services. Labor is billed separately, and availability is subject to the applicable service terms.

Understand the Local-Only Limitation

Backup Core does not include an offsite cloud copy. If fire, theft, flooding, or another incident affects both your original equipment and local backup, that backup may be unavailable.

Best fit: Businesses with someone who has the time and technical ability to manage their own backups.

CSI Backup Support

Cloud Protection. Help When You Need It.

For businesses that want an offsite backup and a professional resource to call.

Ask About Backup Support

Backup Support adds cloud protection and access to separately billed CSI assistance.

An offsite recovery copy provides another source for restoring protected systems if local equipment becomes unavailable. When you need help with a backup problem, configuration change, or restore, you can engage CSI.

What's Included

  • Installation and initial configuration.
  • Scheduled offsite cloud backups for covered systems.
  • System-level backups supporting individual file and full-system recovery.
  • Backup retention established for your environment.
  • Local backup or recovery storage when specified in your quote.
  • Initial verification of the configured backup process.
  • Access to separately billed technical assistance.

What You Manage

Your business remains responsible for routine backup oversight, reviewing results, and requesting assistance when needed.

Backup Support does not include ongoing CSI monitoring, automatic troubleshooting, or scheduled recovery testing.

When You Need Assistance

CSI can investigate backup problems, make configuration changes, and assist with file or system recovery. Support labor is billed under your quoted rates or support arrangement.

Temporary cloud server operation can be evaluated as a separate recovery engagement. It is not included automatically with cloud backup storage.

Best fit: Businesses that want offsite protection and professional assistance while retaining responsibility for routine oversight.

CSI Backup Managed

Your Protection and Recovery, Managed by CSI.

For businesses that want someone else to take care of the backup and recovery process.

Ask About Backup Managed

Backup Managed puts CSI in charge of the agreed backup environment, from ongoing oversight and troubleshooting to recovery planning and restoration.

For covered, supported systems, this includes managing temporary cloud operation while your normal server environment is unavailable and coordinating the return afterward.

What's Included

  • Installation and configuration of the agreed backup environment.
  • Scheduled cloud backups, with local protection where specified.
  • Ongoing backup monitoring and investigation of failures.
  • Backup configuration, retention, and capacity oversight.
  • Documented recovery priorities and procedures.
  • Scheduled recovery testing at the agreed frequency.
  • Management of covered file and full-system restores.
  • Management of temporary cloud server operation.
  • Secure recovery access and connectivity coordination.
  • Management of the return to your normal operating environment.

What CSI Manages

CSI reviews backup health, addresses problems within scope, maintains the agreed recovery procedures, and coordinates recovery when an interruption occurs.

Your business identifies its priorities, communicates changes, and authorizes recovery decisions as needed.

When You Need Recovery

CSI assesses the situation and manages the recovery approach for covered systems. Depending on the incident, that may involve restoring files, recovering a server, or bringing supported systems online in a temporary cloud environment.

Your agreement defines covered systems, service hours, response terms, testing frequency, included recovery labor, and cloud operating allowances. Replacement equipment and work outside that scope are quoted separately.

Best fit: Businesses that depend on their systems and want CSI responsible for ongoing backup protection and recovery readiness.

"We want CSI to take care of it."

Choose Backup Managed if you want CSI responsible for monitoring, backup management, recovery planning, and coordinating restoration for your covered systems.

Plan for the Everyday Failure and the Coastal Disruption

A server can fail on an ordinary Tuesday. A coastal storm can create a broader problem by affecting your building, power, or internet access.

For businesses in Savannah, Pooler, Garden City, Richmond Hill, and surrounding communities, a practical plan should consider both.

  • Local backup provides a recovery source at your premises.
  • Cloud backup adds an offsite recovery copy.
  • Managed recovery addresses how systems will be restored and how your team will regain access.

The right plan depends on how long your business can operate without its systems, how much recent work it can afford to lose, and who will manage the recovery.

Experience With the Full Recovery Process

Computer Solutions completed a controlled disaster recovery exercise for a manufacturing business.

The project included recovering domain and file servers into the cloud, establishing a secure connection from an alternate location, operating in the cloud for several weeks, and returning the servers to a physical host.

That experience informs the dependencies we evaluate and the recovery procedures we help businesses develop.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main difference between Core, Support, and Managed?

Core is local backup you manage yourself after installation. Support adds cloud protection and separately billed assistance. Managed puts CSI in charge of ongoing backup oversight and the recovery process within your agreement.

Does Backup Core include monitoring?

No. After setup and handoff, your business is responsible for checking results, responding to failures, maintaining equipment, and testing recovery.

Can we still call CSI if we choose Core?

Yes. You can request troubleshooting or restoration assistance, which is billed separately. Core does not include an ongoing monitoring commitment or guaranteed emergency response.

Why should we consider cloud backup?

A local backup can be affected by the same incident as your original equipment. An offsite cloud copy provides another recovery source if your local backup or building becomes unavailable.

Does Backup Support include support labor?

Support labor is billed separately under your quoted rates or support arrangement. The backup service and the work required to troubleshoot or restore are separate charges.

Does Backup Support include ongoing monitoring?

No. Your business retains routine oversight and contacts CSI when assistance is needed. Backup Managed includes CSI oversight of the agreed backup environment.

Can you recover individual files and entire servers?

The solutions support individual file and full-system recovery for covered, supported systems. The available recovery method depends on your configuration, the incident, and the condition of your recovery points.

Does a cloud backup mean our employees can immediately work in the cloud?

No. Storing a backup and operating a working server environment are different services. Temporary cloud operation requires supported systems, networking, configuration, and recovery work.

Backup Managed includes management of this process within the agreement. Support customers can request a separately scoped recovery engagement.

Are restores included with Backup Managed?

Yes, within your agreement's coverage and allowances. The agreement defines covered systems, included labor, cloud usage, service hours, and charges outside that scope.

How quickly can we recover?

Recovery time depends on the systems involved, available backups, data volume, connectivity, and recovery method. We establish recovery targets during planning and evaluate readiness through the testing included in your service.

Does this protect Microsoft 365 and every computer we own?

Coverage applies only to the systems and workloads listed in your agreement. Microsoft 365, individual workstations, and other cloud applications should be reviewed separately so there are no assumptions about protection.

Can we upgrade later?

Yes. We can review your current setup and recommend a transition. Moving to another plan may require configuration changes, equipment, cloud protection, or additional setup work.

Do you work with businesses outside Savannah?

Yes. We serve Chatham County and nearby communities, including Pooler, Garden City, and Richmond Hill. Contact us to discuss availability and requirements for your location.
